Job summary

Aalborg University is seeking a full-time postdoctoral researcher to develop AI-based clinical decision support systems, starting December 1, 2026, or soon after. The role involves building an interactive framework with LLMs and RAG, grounded in diverse clinical data, and working closely with clinical partners such as the DC in Farsø.

The position is based in the CLINDA group, with collaboration across hospitals in the North Denmark Region and the Department of Clinical Medicine.

Qualifications

• PhD in computer science or related field is required.
• Strong ML and NLP experience is desirable.
• Experience with health data science is a plus.
• Proficiency in Python for prototyping research ideas.
• Solid mathematical foundation supports algorithm design and analysis.
• Clear communication and collaborative mindset with domain experts.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; Danish knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI agent technologies to assist clinical problem solving.
• Create an interactive framework using LLMs and retrieval‑augmented generation.
• Ground reasoning in multi-modal clinical data and patient history.
• Incorporate HITL functionality for user interaction with the agent’s reasoning.
• Collaborate with clinical partners across North Denmark Region hospitals.
