Job summary

KU - SUND - IVS invites applications for a PhD fellowship in Artificial Intelligence for Monitoring and Decision Support at Animal and Herd Level, commencing 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible hereafter. The place of employment is the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, University of Copenhagen.

Qualifications

• Mastery of the R language for statistical computing
• Practical experience with Keras and TensorFlow R packages
• Practical experience with state space models for time series
• Practical experience with fully connected NN, CNNs, transformers
• Practical experience with large language models via API
• Academic publications and relevant work experience
• Curious mind-set with strong ML/AI interest
• Language skills

Responsibilities

• Carrying through an independent research project under supervision
• Completing PhD courses or other education corresponding to approximately 30 ECTS
• Participating in active research environments including a stay at another research team
• Obtaining experience with teaching or dissemination related to the PhD project
• Teaching and disseminating knowledge
• Writing a PhD thesis based on the project
