Job summary

DTU Engineering Technology is seeking a PhD candidate to investigate adaptive restorative XR at the intersection of HCI, machine learning, biosensing, and accessibility. You will design and evaluate trustworthy, interpretable XR experiences in a joint DTU-KTH project with co-supervision and extended research stays at KTH.

The appointment is for 3 years and based on the Danish collective agreement; the expected starting date is January 2027.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in computer science, HCI, XR, ML or related field.
  • Programming or prototyping experience and interest in empirical user research.
  • Ability to work independently in an international research collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Prototype adaptive and accessible restorative XR environments.
  • Model user state from physiological and behavioural signals and design interpretable adaptations.
  • Conduct laboratory studies and longer-term field deployments.
  • Collaborate with KTH through shared studies, publications, and ~12 months of research stays.
