Job summary

The Capital Region of Denmark, Nordsjællands Hospital in Hillerød, invites applications for a Doctoral Candidate position in epidemiology as part of the DETECTIVE programme. You will work on multicenter surveillance, seroprevalence studies, and data-driven models under supervision from leading university partners.

The position is a 36-month full-time PhD hosted by Nordsjællands Hospital, affiliated with the University of Copenhagen; travel for secondments to UCL and RIVM is planned.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in biomedical sciences, medicine, epidemiology, public health sciences or related fields.
• Experience with large epidemiological data and infectious diseases is beneficial.
• Knowledge of molecular diagnostics or epidemiological data analysis would give a running start.
• Interest in self-development and multidisciplinary research collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate multicenter surveillance implementation of standardized case identification for enterovirus infections.
• Conduct seroprevalence studies on biobank samples from the Danish National Biobank.
• Collect and analyze results and data from other DETECTIVE work packages.
• Build data-driven models of population susceptibility, infection and transmission dynamics.
