Job summary

European Spallation Source ERIC is looking for Research Scientists in Computational Modelling for Neutron Science to advance modelling approaches for neutron experiments. You will develop new methods, collaborate with ESS scientists, software developers, and international partners to shape next‑generation scientific workflows across the instrument suite.

Qualifications

  • Experience in computational modelling applied to neutron science or related fields.
  • Strong foundations in modelling workflows and numerical methods.
  • Ability to collaborate across international teams and with external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop advanced computational workflows supporting neutron scattering experiments.
  • Integrate modelling and analysis methods into the ESS scientific software ecosystem with colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain an internationally recognised research programme aligned with the DMSC strategy.
  • Participate in selected user experiments and scientific projects at ESS.
  • Build collaborations with universities, research institutes, and ESS partners.
