Job summary

Altia in Copenhagen is seeking a Network & Security Engineer to design, operate and secure enterprise networks across on‑prem, cloud and hybrid environments. You will collaborate with systems and cloud teams to ensure secure, resilient connectivity between on‑premises and Azure/AWS, implement firewall and NAC controls, and contribute to future HCI readiness.

The role demands 5+ years in network engineering, strong English, Linux administration, and a focus on security, availability and incident

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional experience in network engineering roles.
• Fluent English (C1), both written and spoken.
• Linux infrastructure administration.
• LAN, WAN, and VPN networks including on-premises systems, Azure, and AWS.
• Firewall, NAC, and network segmentation management.
• Secure remote access solutions including VPN management.
• Monitoring of network performance, logs, and incident detection.
• Disaster recovery in on‑premises and cloud environments.
• Integration with cloud services such as Azure ExpressRoute and AWS VPCs.
• Future HCI planning and network topology design.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a Network & Security Engineer with solid experience in enterprise networking and hybrid (on-prem + cloud) environments, passionate about building secure, resilient and highly available infrastructures.

You’ll join a key project focused on modernising and securing the network, ensuring robust connectivity between on-premises systems and Azure/AWS environments, and preparing the ground for the future adoption of hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI).

Your mission will be to design, operate and secure the Agency’s LAN, WAN and VPN services, manage firewalls and network segmentation, and work closely with systems and cloud teams to guarantee safe, efficient data flows across the entire ecosystem.

Must-haves for this challenge

• At least 5 years of professional experience in network engineering roles.
• Fluent English (C1), both written and spoken.
• Linux infrastructure administration.
• Operation and maintenance of LAN, WAN, and VPN networks, including connectivity between on-premises systems, Azure, and AWS.
• Configuration and management of firewalls, Network Access Control (NAC), and network segmentation policies.
• Secure remote access solutions, including VPN technology management and support.
• Monitoring of network performance, availability, and security logs, with proactive incident detection, troubleshooting, and resolution.
• Network redundancy, failover, and disaster recovery, both on-premises and in cloud environments.
• Maintenance of firewall rules and access controls, including integration with cloud services such as Azure ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways, and AWS VPCs.
• Implementation of network security best practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and resources.
• Collaboration with infrastructure and cloud teams to ensure secure and efficient data flows between on-premises and cloud environments.
• Network security monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Planning and design of future hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), including network topology, traffic optimization, and HCI management network requirements.
