Job summary

Planday, a Xero company, is seeking a Data Engineer to bridge raw data and AI-powered insights within our scheduling platform. You will design upstream data pipelines, extract and prepare datasets for ML prototypes and production models, and build production-ready data flows powering agentic AI features for users worldwide.

Your role requires collaborating with Data and Platform teams, implementing robust data validation, and optimizing for low latency to ensure reliable, scalable AI

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data engineering for ML/AI in production.
• Proficient in SQL and Python for ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Knowledge of MLOps, data versioning, and feature stores.
• Experience with vector databases and embeddings for LLMs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Data and Platform teams to design upstream data pipelines.
• Extract and transform large-scale datasets for AI/ML prototyping and model training.
• Build production-ready data pipelines powering agentic AI workflows and real-time ML.
• Implement data validation and monitoring for ML features and data lineage.
