Job summary

VML in Copenhagen is seeking a Team Leader for a data engineering team to accelerate our Open Intelligence initiative. You will design, build and maintain data connectors feeding core pipelines, while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with product stakeholders.

You will work with SQL, Python/Scala, and modern data ecosystems, ensuring reliable, scalable data with strong governance. This hybrid role is based in Copenhagen with a collaborative global team.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with adtech- or martech data.
• Ability to communicate with product teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with CI/CD and cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Scala.

Responsibilities

• Build, manage and maintain data extraction pipelines with AI coding assistants.
• Pre-aggregate data in clean rooms using SQL dialects.
• Fetch data through REST APIs using Python or Node.js.
• Collaborate with Product to add new data sources and translate discussions into maintainable code.
• Identify and address technical debt in the data platform.
• Guide regional teams on best practices for Open Intelligence data onboarding.
• Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to ensure connectors work as expected.
• Design data governance and quality frameworks for reliable connectors.
