Job summary

Sensori is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to lead on-site delivery of mechanical packages and own planning, execution, safety, quality and cost control. You will coordinate with program management, engineering, operations, and supply‑chain partners to ensure successful project handover.

The role requires a trade or engineering qualification, with 5+ years in mechanical project management and strong on-site leadership, safety compliance and client communication.

Qualifications

  • Trade qualification or relevant engineering/technical qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ project management experience delivering medium-to-large mechanical installation projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and on-site electrical interfaces.
  • Experience with integrated design-and-build delivery models.
  • Health & safety knowledge and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficient with scheduling, reporting and standard office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design review, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of mechanical systems and enclosures.
  • Oversee interfaces between mechanical and electrical scopes; review designs for constructability and client alignment.
  • Coordinate daily site activities, manage labour, plant and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain the site programme and monitor critical path.
  • Control scope costs including subcontractors, materials, and variations; issue weekly cost reports.
  • Maintain project safety files and drive a strong QHSE culture with the EHS lead.
  • Set up QA documentation and enforce quality standards across teams and subcontractors.
  • Manage subcontractor activities, track progress and hold weekly coordination meetings.
  • Produce weekly internal and external progress reports highlighting delays and risks.
  • Record hours and liaise with client teams and stakeholders.
  • Ensure changes are managed for cost and programme; prepare valuations and variations.
  • Deliver final project documentation and closeout.

Job description

Sensori is hiring a Mechanical Project Manager to lead on-site delivery of projects. You will own planning, execution, safety, quality, cost control, subcontractor coordination, and final handover for mechanical packages, working closely with program management, engineering, operations, and supply‑chain partners.

Core responsibilities
  • Manage design review, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of mechanical systems and enclosures for assigned projects.
  • Oversee interfaces between mechanical and electrical scopes; review designs with engineering and client teams to ensure constructability and alignment with site works.
  • Coordinate daily site activities, resolve site issues, deploy labour and plant efficiently, and maintain site productivity.
  • Develop and maintain the site programme in line with the project plan, engineering milestones and client requirements; monitor the critical path and reallocate resources to meet targets.
  • Control all costs for your scope including Sensori mechanical team, internal electrical team where applicable, subcontractors, materials, plant and equipment, variations and valuations; issue weekly cost reports.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, Operations Manager and Sensori EHS lead to create, maintain and close the project safety file; ensure statutory compliance and drive a strong QHSE culture.
  • Set up, maintain and close site QA documentation in collaboration with Sensori QA lead; enforce quality standards across teams and subcontractors.
  • Manage subcontractor activities, track progress and manpower, chair and minute weekly coordination meetings, and ensure subcontractor documentation (including safety) is current and filed.
  • Produce internal weekly roll‑ups (percent complete by WBS, risks, KPIs) and external weekly progress reports to the Project Manager highlighting delays, design shortages, third‑party hold‑ups and percent complete; maintain a weekly photographic diary and track all material deliveries.
  • Issue direct labour and subcontractor hours to the time administrator for central tracking.
  • Liaise with and maintain strong relationships with the client team; attend site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering reviews, planning/co‑ordination meetings and handover meetings.
  • Ensure changes are managed correctly for cost and programme; prepare valuations and variation documentation.
  • Deliver final account, O&M manuals, punch list completion, safety and QA files, material and plant relocations and final project documentation with the project team.
  • Perform additional tasks required to ensure successful project delivery.
Required qualifications and experience
  • Trade qualification and/or relevant third‑level engineering or technical qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ project management experience delivering medium‑to‑large mechanical installation projects; 8+ years preferred for senior roles.
  • Strong practical understanding of mechanical systems and good working knowledge of electrical interfaces on site.
  • Experience with integrated design‑and‑build delivery models.
  • Experience handling workforce relations and site labour issues.
  • Health & safety — Demonstrable knowledge of site H&S practices and statutory compliance.
  • IT and reporting — Proficient with scheduling tools, project reporting systems and standard office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Communication — Clear, concise communicator able to lead meetings, write reports and liaise with clients and stakeholders.
  • Delivery mindset — Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and drive large‑scale site programmes to completion.
