Job summary

BlinkTroll Robotics in Odense is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Specialist to own complex mechanical systems from idea to field deployment, and to work closely with hardware, software, and embedded engineers.

You will design, prototype, and document with 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Fusion 360), produce 2D drawings, and take full ownership of manufacturing‑friendly designs while supporting testing and field trials.

We're looking for a Mechanical Engineering Specialist to join our team in Odense, someone who can work independently, communicate clearly across disciplines, and take ownership of complex mechanical systems from idea to field deployment.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving real problems, exploring new ideas, and working closely with a small team of hardware, software, and embedded engineers.

What You'll Do

• Design and prototype mechanical systems and components from concept to field-ready solutions
• Work closely with embedded, software, and electronics engineers to build fully integrated systems
• Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical documentation (SolidWorks, Fusion360 or similar)
• 2D technical drawings
• Take full ownership of mechanical design decisions and implementation
• Support assembly, testing, and troubleshooting in-house and during field testing
• Help scale systems from prototype to small-scale production
• Contribute ideas and improvements to system architecture and product design
• Communicate clearly with the team and help translate concepts into practical engineering solutions

Who You Are

• 8+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer or mechanical design engineer
• Comfortable working independently and driving projects forward
• Strong communication skills and able to collaborate across engineering disciplines
• Experienced in 3D CAD and designing for manufacturing
• Hands‑on and comfortable working with tools, prototypes, and test setups
• Curious and open‑minded, always looking for better solutions and new ideas
• Reliable, structured, and comfortable in a fast‑moving startup environment
• Based in or near Odense, or willing to work on‑site
