Job description

Company Description

Would you like to help build and develop a new market area for an ambitious Danish company in the wind energy industry?

We are looking for a strong and self-driven Market Development Manager to join a fast-growing company specialising in wind turbine blade repair, upgrades and maintenance.

This is not a traditional sales role where you are handed an existing customer portfolio and a list of leads.

Your first task will be to understand and map the market: Which market should be explored first, and what are the advantages and disadvantages? Who owns the small and mid-sized wind turbine portfolios? How many turbines do they operate? What are their needs? Where is the greatest commercial potential, and which customers should the company approach first?

In other words, you will take an analytical and almost journalistic approach to the market, build a clear overview and turn your insights into a concrete commercial plan. Then you will execute it.

About the Company

The company is a Danish wind turbine blade repair specialist focusing on offshore and onshore repair, upgrades and maintenance of wind turbine blades.

With a strong focus on quality, safety, digitalisation and innovation, the company provides specialised service solutions to the wind industry and is experiencing significant international growth, with projects carried out both within and outside the EU.

Its experienced teams of IRATA- and GWO-certified technicians specialise in complex blade repair and upgrade projects, delivering high-quality solutions in demanding environments.

Headquartered in Southern Denmark, the company combines strong technical expertise with an entrepreneurial and fast-paced culture. Short decision-making processes, close collaboration and a strong focus on quality and employee well-being provide the foundation for continued growth and long-term development.

Job Description

The Role

You will be responsible for identifying, structuring and developing new markets and customer segments – initially focusing on small and mid-sized wind turbine owners.

Your first priority will be to map and define the strategically most attractive markets and customer segments, particularly owners with smaller portfolios – for example, up to 10–20 wind turbines – who often have different needs and decision-making processes than large energy companies and international wind farm operators.

You will first establish a solid overview of the market and then develop a clear prioritisation and sales strategy.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Mapping the market for smaller wind turbine owners, initially outside Denmark
  • Identifying relevant companies, owners and decision-makers
  • Analysing and prioritising the most attractive prospects
  • Developing a concrete plan for market development and customer outreach
  • Proactively approaching potential customers and building long-term relationships
  • Identifying customer needs and translating them into relevant service and maintenance solutions
  • Driving the sales process from initial contact through proposals, negotiations and signed agreements
  • Building and maintaining a structured sales pipeline
  • Monitoring the market and identifying new commercial opportunities
  • Maintaining momentum and transferring the model to new countries, gradually mapping markets and customers and establishing contact

You will have considerable freedom to organise your work, combined with clear responsibility for delivering results.

Qualifications

Your Profile

First and foremost, we are looking for the right commercial personality.

You are curious, analytical and persistent. You do not expect to be handed a customer list – you find out for yourself where the market is, who the relevant prospects are and how they should be approached.

You work in a structured way and combine analysis with the energy and drive required to actively engage potential customers and create new business.

We expect that you:

  • Have proven experience in B2B sales and business development
  • Work independently and are highly self-motivated
  • Have an analytical and strategic approach to sales and market development
  • Are skilled at research and at creating structure in markets where information is not necessarily readily available
  • Have energy and persistence and thrive on creating your own opportunities
  • Are relationship-oriented and credible in your dialogue with both owner-managed businesses and professional organisations
  • Work systematically with pipeline management, prioritisation and follow-up
  • Communicate confidently in both Danish and English

Experience from the wind industry will be a clear advantage, but the right commercial and analytical profile may also come from another industry with relevant parallels.

Additional Information

We Offer

  • A key commercial role in an international growth company
  • The opportunity to build a new market area from the ground up
  • Considerable freedom and a high degree of responsibility
  • Short decision-making processes and direct access to management
  • The opportunity to make a real impact on the company's commercial development
  • An international perspective with the opportunity to develop additional markets, including Sweden and other countries
  • An attractive overall compensation package based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience

Location

Permanent base at the company's headquarters in Hammelev, conveniently located by the highway between Vojens and Haderslev.
