Job summary

NORDEN is seeking a Data Scientist in Maritime Logistics to translate complex shipping data into simulations and actionable insights. You will work with Python to build models that test scenarios across vessels, ports, terminals and weather-driven constraints.

You will collaborate with commercial and operational teams, leveraging Prefect, Docker, Azure and Power BI to develop practical decision-support tools and visualisations.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Good foundation in Python and structured analytical code.
• Fluent in English, the working language.
• Eligible to work in Denmark.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop simulation models of supply chains and maritime logistics operations.
• Use discrete-event simulation and agent-based modelling to represent vessels, terminals, ports and other parts of complex logistics systems.
• Analyse logistics networks and explore opportunities to improve capacity, throughput, utilisation and efficiency.
• Use historical and operational data to calibrate, validate and continually improve models.
• Build analytical tools that allow colleagues to explore scenarios and understand implications.
• Develop robust analytical models and simulation solutions in Python.
• Create visualisations that make outputs easier to understand and use.
