About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Planning Manager to cover the responsibilities of the Maintenance Planning Department. The role is key to maintaining continued airworthiness and regulatory compliance by planning all scheduled maintenance activities in accordance with the approved Aircraft Maintenance Programme (AMP) and the company’s Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME).

Key responsibilities
  • Lead the planning of all scheduled maintenance activities in line with the approved maintenance programme.
  • Optimise the aircraft maintenance planning programme to support operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Ensure the availability of aircraft to meet operational requirements.
  • Maintain manuals and controlled documentation assigned to the Planning Department.
  • Prepare written responses to audit findings and implement the necessary changes to processes, procedures, and organisational arrangements.
  • Drive departmental and organisational development to promote efficient processes, effective procedures, and an engaged workforce.
  • Ensure the department is adequately staffed with qualified personnel and support recruitment to meet required competence and experience levels.
  • Ensure Tech Rep coverage during base maintenance activities.
  • Set priorities, monitor departmental progress and performance, and provide guidance to the department, teams, and individuals.
  • Establish departmental procedures and implement the necessary control measures.
  • Act as a substitute for the Line Maintenance Planner, Base Maintenance Planner, or Tech Rep during absences.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Professional background: Relevant engineering degree or aircraft maintenance technician qualification, with a minimum of five years’ experience in aviation.
  • Technical expertise: Strong experience in maintenance planning within a CAMO organisation.
  • Leadership experience: Previous experience supervising or leading teams.
  • Regulatory knowledge: Good understanding of the Part-145 and CAMO regulatory framework.
  • Maintenance programme knowledge: Familiarity with MSG-3 and Aircraft Maintenance Programmes.
  • Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
