Job summary

Danish Cancer Institute seeks a Research Group Leader for the Work Environment and Cancer group in Copenhagen. You will build and lead an independent research program examining how occupational and environmental exposures influence cancer risk and outcomes, with freedom to shape the group’s direction.

You will supervise and mentor a team across disciplines, secure competitive funding, and collaborate with epidemiology, data science, and clinical researchers while promoting open, rigorous science

Qualifications

• PhD in epidemiology, public health, environmental/occupational health, medicine, biology or related field.
• Strong publication record relevant to work, environment and cancer.
• Proven track record in obtaining external research funding.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop an independent research programme on work environment and cancer.
• Mentor master, PhD students, postdocs, and researchers.
• Secure external funding from national and international sources.
• Conduct rigorous research and publish in international journals.
• Foster collaboration within DCI and with external partners.
• Contribute to knowledge translation and communication to policymakers and public.
