The LEGO Group seeks a Lead Engineer - BrickLink to guide modernization from legacy ASP/VBScript and Java toward a modern C#, React, and AWS stack. You will set architectural standards, mentor engineers, and partner with product and business stakeholders to deliver value across creators, buyers, and sellers.
You will join a hybrid team with a strong emphasis on collaboration, code quality, and continuous learning as we scale BrickLink for the future.
Just imagine helping transform a platform built across four generations of technology into a modern cloud-native ecosystem while millions of LEGO fans continue to use it every day. Then make it real.
As our Lead Engineer - BrickLink, you'll shape the technical direction of BrickLink within the LEGO Group while guiding a major modernization journey. You'll combine hands‑on engineering leadership with strategic thinking to help evolve a live marketplace platform from legacy ASP/VBScript and Java technologies toward a modern architecture built on C#, React, and AWS. Working closely with engineers, product partners, and business stakeholders, you'll balance feature delivery with long‑term architectural improvements while establishing the engineering practices that will support BrickLink's future growth.
If you've worked in a role where you led modernization efforts, designed cloud-native architectures, and translated technical vision into delivered outcomes, you'll feel at home here. What matters most is your ability to create clarity, make sound technical decisions, and help teams deliver meaningful results.
You'll join BrickLink within Creator and AFOL Technology. Our mission is to empower Expert Creators to unlock limitless LEGO creativity through a thriving global community. We're one platform with six teams working towards the same goal, bringing together a wide range of experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives. Our team enjoys spending time together in person and follows a hybrid rhythm that supports collaboration, open communication, mentorship, shared ownership, and continuous learning.
Success means helping the team navigate the challenges of modernizing a platform that has evolved over more than 25 years while continuing to deliver value for creators, buyers, and sellers. Over the next 12 to 15 months, you'll play a central role in BrickLink's re-platforming journey as teams move toward a service-oriented architecture with clearly defined domain boundaries, followed by an ambitious roadmap ahead. You'll work closely with product trios across BrickLink, engineering peers, leadership, and digital partners across the wider ecosystem to ensure technical decisions create lasting impact across the platform.
