Job summary

Maersk, based in Copenhagen, is seeking a Lead Engineer - Data & AI to own the architecture of our data and AI platform. This senior individual contributor will design, implement, and deploy critical components, partnering with product and business stakeholders to shape the platform’s direction.

You will collaborate across storage, pipelines, services, and agentic tooling, delivering production-grade solutions while mentoring others and advancing the engineering practice.

Qualifications

• Senior engineer with ownership of data platform components.
• Experience delivering across storage to application and agent layers.
• Ability to design for open standards and long-term flexibility.
• Proven track record in taking systems to production.
• Strong in architecture, design documents, and code delivery.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture for major platform components and data products.
• Define target architectures and migration paths with open standards and flexibility.
• Write and deploy production code for difficult components.
• Make build-versus-buy decisions with cost and risk considerations.
• Design platform foundations: data contracts, lineage, schema evolution, access control.
