Job description

Do you want to become part of a growing business and influence the activities of our IT organization? In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand priorities, help shape how technology supports business needs, and ensure that IT initiatives deliver real value. Come and join us!

We are facing an exciting future with considerable growth and demanding changes, as we deliver advanced technologies and mission critical solutions for the defense and aerospace industry. Our systems provide security for people on land, at sea and in the air. Therefore, we are looking for an IT Business Partner to become part of this journey and contribute to our overall purpose – securing people through advanced technology.

Your role in our team

We are introducing a dedicated IT Business Partner setup as part of an effort to move IT closer to the business. The Business Partner roles are anchored in the IT Strategy and Transformation team and will collectively cover both core functions (Global People, Finance, and Sales) and key business areas such as Manufacturing and R&D.

The move reflects a clear ambition: IT should keep pace with business requirements, support decision-making, and operate as a genuine partner to the organization.

As IT Business Partner, you will become a strategic partner between your designated business area and IT. You are expected to shape how technology supports business priorities, challenge demand before it becomes projects, and ensure that IT investments translate into measurable outcomes.

You will work in a growing organization, collaborating across functions, delivery teams, architects, and specialists without direct line authority. Your impact will depend on credibility, relationships, and the ability to cut through complexity and competing priorities.

How you will make a meaningful contribution

As IT Business Partner, you will work closely with management teams across your designated area to stay close to strategy, priorities, and pain points.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Professionalize and build out the IT Business Partner function in Terma
  • Translate business strategy and operational priorities into clear, prioritized IT roadmaps and initiative backlogs. Based on value, complexity, risk, and capacity
  • Define scope, dependencies, risks, and expected outcomes before a business requirement becomes a project
  • Provide strategic and tactical advice on how technology, digitization, automation, data, and AI can strengthen functional performance and enable continued growth for Terma
  • Secure business ownership and commitment on priorities, business cases, and expected benefits
  • Facilitate effective collaboration between business stakeholders, IT delivery teams of architects, cyber security, and data specialists
  • Monitor IT performance and service delivery for your business areas, and manage escalations where needed
  • Execute and drive forward change requests or smaller projects close to the business, where it is doable
  • Communicate and continually improve understanding of IT processes, limitations and opportunities outside of IT
Bring your world class expertise into play

You are a senior IT professional with a proven track record in IT Business Partnering or a closely related role. You understand how businesses operate, and you know how to position IT as a strategic partner. You are comfortable challenging senior stakeholders, shaping demand, and driving prioritization based on business value.

Moreover, we are also looking for a new colleague with the following qualifications:

  • Solid experience in IT Business Partnering, IT strategy, or digital transformation, ideally working closely with supporting functions (such as HR, Finance, Sales)
  • A demonstrated ability to build trust with senior business leaders and act as a credible, long-term strategic partner/trusted advisor
  • Strong business understanding. You think in terms of business outcomes, not IT deliverables
  • A structured approach to demand management and prioritization, with the analytical skills to back it up
  • Good working knowledge of enterprise IT, business applications, integrations, and software delivery
  • Experience navigating matrix organizations and aligning stakeholders with competing agendas
  • Familiarity with the defense industry or other highly regulated areas will be an advantage, but not a requirement

As a person, you are a team player and enjoy working in a dynamic environment. Moreover, you have excellent communication skills when working with a variety of different stakeholders. You take clear ownership of your tasks and are solution-oriented with an eye for detail.

We are an international company representing world-class expertise, delivering complex and high-tech products. We value our colleagues and our meaningful contributions to securing people through advanced technology. You will also experience that we have a strong focus on your development, teaching you useful new competences and further strengthening current ones, both professionally and personally.
