Job summary

Palsgaard A/S in Juelsminde, Denmark, is seeking an Innovation Specialist to lead dairy and ice-cream applications, working closely with Sales to grow the opportunity pipeline and develop customer projects.

You will travel 20-40 days/year, design and evaluate trials, present results, and mentor colleagues across Innovation Centers, while staying current with market trends and delivering technically viable, commercially sound solutions.

Qualifications

Job description

Are you passionate about developing new products and exploring new applications? Do you have an in-depth understanding of food ingredients and enjoy combining technical expertise with a strong commercial mindset? Are you energized by working closely with Sales to build opportunities and deliver specialist solutions to customers?

If so, you may be our new Innovation Specialist.

You will join the Dairy & Ice-Cream team within our EMEC Innovation department in a customer-facing specialist role. As technical lead, you will work closely with our sales managers to grow the opportunity pipeline, develop the portfolio of customer projects and turn ideas into innovative, commercially viable solutions.

You will become part of a highly skilled innovation team of 18 dedicated colleagues who are passionate about putting their specialist knowledge into practice every day to develop new solutions and set new standards for the future, within the dairy and ice cream, bakery, confectionery, and lipid industries.

The position is based at our headquarters in Juelsminde, Denmark and you will report to our Regional Innovation Manager, Inge Lise Povlsen.

Your responsibilities:

• Provide technical support and specialist expertise to our customers.
• Work closely with Sales to develop the opportunity pipeline and project portfolio.
• Take technical lead on customer and new product development (NPD) projects.
• Travel to customers independently or together with Sales colleagues and distributors.

What do you need to apply?

• Design, conduct and evaluate application trials, and communicate results through technical presentations and reports
• Develop the best possible solutions from both a functional and economic perspective and present these solutions to customers.
• Continuously strengthen our knowledge, capabilities and market insight within dairy & ice cream to maintain and enhance Palsgaard’s competitiveness.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and provide technical support to colleagues at our regional Innovation Centers.
• Conduct training and educating customers, distributors and colleagues on Palsgaard’s product portfolio and its applications within the dairy & ice cream industry.

You have an MSc in Food Science, Dairy Science or a similar technical background, preferably combined with some years of experience with application work, innovation and product development – ideally within dairy & ice cream.

You are an excellent communicator who can engage effectively at different levels and can translate complex data and technical knowledge into clear, practical information for end users. You work systematically and analytically, have strong reporting skills and are skilled at building transparent, trusting relationships with both customers and colleagues.

As one of our specialists within dairy & ice cream, you will be expected to stay up to date with the latest market trends, technologies and technical developments in the field. This knowledge will enable you to provide strong technical guidance and support customers and colleagues around the world. We will, of course, provide a thorough onboarding program and the training needed to support your continued professional development.

As Palsgaard is an international company with a global reach, excellent written and spoken English is essential. Proficiency in an additional European language would be a plus.

The position involves approximately 20–40 travel days per year, primarily for customer visits, trials, training and collaboration with colleagues and partners.
