Job summary

ABP Food Group's Esbjerg site seeks an experienced HR Manager to partner with operations, translating HR strategies into practical, people-focused solutions on the production floor. You will report to the General Manager and collaborate with Group HR to support the local leadership team.

The role demands visibility on the production floor, coaching leaders, and ensuring compliant, engaging processes across recruitment, development and employee relations. A dynamic manufacturing setting awaits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of HR experience in manufacturing or similar environments.
• Experience operating in international or matrix organisations with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of Danish employment law and collective bargaining agreements.
• Experience driving recruitment, talent development and employee engagement initiatives.
• Proven ability to lead leadership and organisational development across the business.
• Fluent in Danish and English, both written and verbal.

We are looking for an experienced HR Manager who enjoys being close to the operation, building strong relationships across the organisation and translating HR strategies into practical, people-focused solutions that support both our employees and business goals while thriving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

About the position

As HR Manager, you will play a key role in supporting and developing our people, leaders and organisation at our manufacturing site in Esbjerg. Reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with Group HR, you will be part of the local Leadership Team and act as a trusted partner across the business.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys being visible on the production floor, coaching leaders, driving employee engagement and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies. You will lead the local HR function while helping to shape a positive workplace culture and supporting the continued growth of the business.

Your key areas of responsibility

• HR Operations, Employee Relations & Leadership Support
• Recruitment, Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding
• Employee Engagement, Development & Succession Planning

Examples of tasks could include

• Partner with leaders across the site to support day-to-day people management, operational HR activities and workforce planning initiatives
• Maintain a visible presence on the production floor, building strong relationships with employees and managers
• Coach and support supervisors and managers on employee relations, performance management and leadership development
• Manage absence processes and workforce planning initiatives to support operational stability
• Lead and support recruitment and onboarding activities while strengthening the site's employer brand
• Develop talent, succession and career development initiatives across the business
• Drive employee engagement activities and support action planning based on survey feedback
• Ensure compliance with Danish employment legislation, collective agreements, GDPR and ethical standards
• Support audit readiness and compliance requirements, including SMETA and other audits
• Lead, develop and support the local HR team while fostering a service-oriented HR function

Candidate profile

• Minimum 5 years of HR experience, ideally as an HR Manager, Senior HR Business Partner, HR Generalist or similar role
• Experience operating in an international or matrix organisation, partnering with both local and global stakeholders
• Strong knowledge of Danish employment law and collective bargaining agreements
• Experience driving recruitment, talent development and employee engagement initiatives
• Proven experience driving leadership, talent and organisational development across the business
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Professional proficiency in Danish and English, both written and verbal
• Hands-on, pragmatic and comfortable working closely with operational teams in a fast-paced environment
