Job summary

Sandman Hotel Group is seeking a diligent Cleaner to join our housekeeping team. You will be responsible for cleaning hallways, elevators, common areas, and vacant suites while maintaining safety standards and a welcoming environment for guests.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, reliable teamwork, and the ability to follow instructions in a fast-paced hotel setting. Training is available, with opportunities to grow within the company.

Qualifications

• Experience in janitorial / building cleaning is an asset but willing to train the right candidate.
• Ability to follow instruction
• Good communication skills are an asset
• WHMIS is an asset
• Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
• Professional appearance and manners
• Able to lift up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning of hallways and entrances
• Cleaning of elevators and vestibules
• Cleaning of all common areas
• Cleaning of vacant tenant suites as required
• May include; seasonal outdoor landscaping
• Takes personal responsibility for equipment, ensuring it is operated correctly and secure at all times
• Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of all chemicals and cleaning products, and the correct handling procedures
• Reports any unusual or suspicious persons/activities happening in the area of security to the manager
• Reports any maintenance issues including burned out light bulbs
