Job summary

Embankment, based in Copenhagen, is hiring its first Head of IT to own IT end-to-end—from identity and access management to the Mac/Windows fleet, network, SaaS licenses, onboarding, offboarding, and vendor relations. You’ll work with IT compliance and report to the CTO as Embankment scales in a regulated environment.

The role is hands-on with a mandate to build the IT function, implement agents, and set up security baselines while balancing incident response, projects, and compliance findings

Qualifications

• As an IT Manager or Senior IT Lead in a scale-up or larger company, you’ve been through growth, an audit or regulatory process and know what good looks like at around 200 people.
• You know Entra ID, Intune and Microsoft 365, and you prefer scripting (PowerShell) over clicking.
• You distinguish incidents, projects and compliance findings, and manage backlog with clear prioritization.
• You're hands-on and want to stay involved in day-to-day IT work.
• You use agents to provision, audit and remediate, with accountability for their actions.
• You communicate clearly with colleagues, auditors and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Run IT so every new hire has a working laptop and proper first-day access, with same-day access requests and on-time off-boarding.
• Own and harden our Microsoft tenant: Entra ID, CA, device compliance in Intune, Defender, Purview, and Microsoft 365 baseline configuration.
• Build agents that perform IT tasks and extend them for IT support and tenant hardening with change-logging.
• Ensure IT estate complies with DORA, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, and other regulatory frameworks with auditable evidence.
• Manage SaaS licenses, hardware lifecycle, vendors, and contracts; monitor spend and usage.
• Shape the function as the team grows, determining structure and headcount.
