Job summary

FOSS is seeking a Head of Electronics to lead 13 R&D specialists in electronics hardware and embedded software. You will own the modular electronics platform for new instruments and drive governance across projects, reporting to the Director of Technology Innovation.

You will shape platform reuse, improve development efficiency, and balance capacity planning with long-term staffing and competence development while collaborating across functions such as procurement, production, and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering or related field.
• Experience leading electronics development in product/platform context.
• Knowledge of modular design, interface management and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead electronics and embedded software specialists (13 people).
• Own the modular electronics platform and governance across instruments.
• Balance platform reuse with development efficiency and cross-functional decisions.
• Architectural trade-offs, assess risks and drive process improvements.
• Plan capacity and develop competencies with long-term staffing.
