Global Director Publications at Novo Nordisk will lead the worldwide publication agenda for our cardiometabolic portfolio, shaping publication strategy and overseeing execution across trial phases and evidence types, including real-world evidence. The role drives AI-enabled processes and cross-functional collaboration.

Based in Søborg with relocation support. You will lead a high-impact team, partner with R&D, Market Access and external experts, and ensure compliance with publication standards.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Medicine, Pharmacy or Life Sciences.
• 10+ years in pharma industry or medical writing agencies with leadership experience.
• Experience with global KOLs and cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a publication team.
• Define and execute global scientific publication strategy across clinical trial phases and evidence types (including RWE).
• Align assets across Publication Planning Groups (PPGs).
• Drive publication planning across the portfolio and manage an annual budget.
• Engage Key Opinion Leaders as authors and presenters.
• Own the global publication operating model and embed AI/digital workflows.
• Ensure alignment with Good Publication Practice, regulatory and ethical standards.

Shape how the world's most important scientific findings reach patients, clinicians and decision-makers. As Global Director Publications, you will set the strategy that defines how Novo Nordisk's science is communicated in publications – and lead the team that brings it to life.

Your new role

This is a rare opportunity to lead the global publication agenda for one of the most exciting pipelines in healthcare. You will define the scientific publication strategy across our cardiometabolic portfolio, drive operational excellence, and integrate AI into every part of how we plan, produce and disseminate medical evidence.

Day-to-day Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Leading, coaching and developing a highly engaged and capable team of publication professionals
• Defining and executing the global scientific publication strategy across clinical trial phases and evidence types, including real-world evidence (RWE).
• Ensuring asset and portfolio alignment through cross functional Publication Planning Groups (PPGs)
• Driving publication planning and execution across the portfolio – including RWE, Market Access, Patient Experience & Advocacy and major markets – while managing an annual publication budget
• Identifying and engaging Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) as authors and presenters, building trusted relationships that advance scientific collaboration and advocacy
• Owning the global publication operating model, embedding AI and digital workflows to improve cycle time, quality and compliance
• Ensuring full alignment with Good Publication Practice, regulatory and ethical standards across the publication lifecycle

The role is base in Søborg and relocation support will be provided.

In Product & Portfolio Strategy we drive commercial strategy, medical affairs and business development across all therapy areas. We act as a connector and compass, guiding the new Novo Nordisk portfolio for sustained competitiveness upstream, and maximising portfolio potential through successful commercial strategies and competitive launches downstream.

Within Product & Portfolio Strategy, the Global Publications team sits in Strategic Scientific Communication (SSC) within Global Medical Affairs, at the intersection of science, commercial strategies and external influence. We work hand-in-hand with R&D, Market Access, Operations and global KOLs to translate breakthrough science into publications that change clinical practice and improve patient outcomes

Your Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for a strategic, scientifically grounded leader who thrives at the intersection of medical excellence, stakeholder influence and operational innovation. You bring with you:

• An advanced degree in Medicine, Pharmacy or Life Sciences (MD, PhD or equivalent is considered an advantage)
• 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or large medical writing agencies, with a proven track record in successful leadership roles
• Extensive experience in stakeholder management, including engagement with global KOLs, medical communications agencies or senior cross-functional partners
• Demonstrated ability to optimise processes through digitalisation and simplification, and a genuine "AI pioneer" mindset
• Strong strategic vision combined with the ability to navigate complex global organisations, lead cultural and organisational change, and balance scientific, compliance and business considerations
• Excellent communication and influencing skills in English, with the gravitas to engage senior internal leaders and external scientific experts alike

Salary

For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 940,800.00 to 1,448,700.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.
