Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to Group Management and stakeholders across the business.
• Lead and manage the IP portfolio including trademarks, patents, copyrights, designs, and IP disputes.
• Support mergers, acquisitions and other strategic transactions including due diligence and contract negotiations.
• Handle insurance/claims processes.
• Manage IP infringement issues and trademarks.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents.
• Handle legal proceedings and corporate governance tasks.
• Provide legal support on HR-related matters.

Job description

We are looking for a General Counsel to join our Legal & Compliance team at our global headquarters in Odense. In this key role, you will act as a trusted advisor to Group Management and business leaders across KOMPAN's international organization, providing high-quality legal support that enables sound decision-making and sustainable growth.

Legal counsel across business areas and country borders

As General Counsel, you will lead and further develop KOMPAN's in-house legal function, ensuring high-quality legal support across a broad range of business areas. While the role covers general corporate and commercial law, we are particularly interested in candidates with strong expertise within Intellectual Property Law (IP/Immaterialret) and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A).

You will play a central role in protecting and strengthening KOMPAN's intellectual property portfolio, supporting strategic growth initiatives, and helping the business navigate complex legal matters across multiple jurisdictions. Working closely with stakeholders throughout the organization, you will identify legal risks, advise on business decisions, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations globally.

You Will Refer Directly To Our CFO As a Part Of Our Legal & Compliance Team, And Your Core Tasks Will Include

• Provide legal counsel to Group Management and stakeholders across the business.
• Lead and manage KOMPAN's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, designs, and IP disputes.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions, including due diligence and contract negotiations.
• Claim / Insurance handling.
• Handle IP infringement issues, Trademarks.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
• Legal Proceedings.
• Corporate Governance.
• Support on legal HR related matters.

Strong Legal Expertise Combined with Commercial Understanding

You hold a Master of Laws degree (Cand.jur., LL.M. or equivalent) and have significant experience from either an international company or a law firm.

Ideally, you bring a strong track record within Intellectual Property Law and M&A transactions, combined with broad commercial legal experience.

You are comfortable operating in a global business environment and thrive on balancing legal considerations with commercial objectives. As a person, you are proactive, pragmatic, and solution-oriented, with the ability to build strong relationships across cultures and organizational levels.

You communicate confidently in both Danish and English, verbally and in writing, and enjoy working in a role that offers a high degree of responsibility, variety, and stakeholder interaction.

Our HQ is in Odense. Flexibility in this role allows you to work from your office in Odense combined with working from home.
