Job summary

GoWish, Ønskeskyen, is building the world’s leading wish-list and social shopping platform. As a Frontend Engineer you will join Product Engineering in Copenhagen, contributing to cross-functional teams that design seamless gifting experiences.

Develop and maintain our React Native app, own frontend features end-to-end, and collaborate with backend services to ensure product coherence. You’ll bring 3+ years of React Native, TypeScript, Expo, and a strong eye for detail to ship high-quality UI

Qualifications

• The candidate has 3+ years of frontend engineering experience building production mobile apps with React Native, TypeScript, and Expo.
• Experience managing application state at scale with Context/Redux/React Query or Apollo Client.
• Experience integrating GraphQL and RESTful APIs in production apps.
• Experience building polished mobile interfaces with a strong eye for detail and consistent UI across devices.
• Experience with CI/CD practices for mobile app deployment and updates.
• Ability to work independently in a small, high-ownership team and communicate progress and risks.

Team & Role Overview

As our new Fronted Engineer you will join Product Engineering within our Engineering department, working in one of five cross‑functional teams: Activation, Wishing Experience, Personalization, Creator and Monetization. Each team consists of a Product Manager, Product Designer, Tech Lead, and a dedicated group of backend and frontend developers. Together, we collaborate closely to design seamless, intuitive, and high‑impact experiences for our users’ gifting journeys.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain our React Native app, focusing on functionality and high performance.
• Own frontend features end‑to‑end, from technical design to production delivery.
• Collaborate within a cross‑functional team that manages services from the backend to the app, ensuring product coherence and technical integrity.
• Translate complex business requirements into reliable, scalable, and integrated technical solutions across the entire service stack.
• Ensure seamless interaction and integration across services, supporting a unified and efficient development lifecycle.
• Take responsibility for code quality, readability, and a consistent, high‑quality user interface across all devices.
• Review pull requests critically and provide constructive feedback.
• Communicate proactively about progress, risks, and trade‑offs.
• Identify technical gaps and improvement opportunities and act on them.
• Operate effectively in a small team environment with high ownership.

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years of frontend engineering experience building production mobile apps with React Native, TypeScript, and Expo.
• Experience managing application state at scale with solutions such as Context, Zustand, Redux, React Query, or Apollo Client.
• Experience integrating GraphQL and RESTful APIs in production apps.
• Experience building polished mobile interfaces, with a meticulous eye for detail and a track record of delivering consistent, high‑quality UI across devices.
• Experience with CI/CD practices for mobile app deployment and updates.
• Experience working independently in a small, high‑ownership team, communicating clearly about progress, risks and trade‑offs.

It is further seen as an advantage to have experience with:

• Firebase
• Expo Updates / CodePush
• UI tooling such as AntD and Tailwind
• CSS/LESS
• Backend development fundamentals
