Job summary

Danfoss in Denmark is seeking a student worker to apply academic knowledge to real-world challenges in smart home technology. You will contribute to the security of IoT devices and help meet the upcoming Cyber Resilience Act while balancing your studies.

You will gain hands-on experience at the intersection of hardware and software, with mentoring, flexibility, and opportunities to explore AI tools and firmware development for embedded systems used in home climate controls.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Coursework or project experience in embedded C programming and firmware development for IoT devices.
• Familiarity with wireless protocols (Zigbee, Matter, BLE, Wi‑Fi, LoRaWAN).
• Foundational understanding of memory management for resource-constrained systems.
• Interest in cybersecurity and building secure products.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and implementation of security solutions for CRA readiness.
• Migrate software from legacy microcontrollers to modern, capable platforms.
• Develop and test security features like secure boot, OTA updates, and firmware verification.
• Assist with verification and debugging of embedded systems, including unit tests on hardware.
• Explore and apply AI tools to streamline coding and debugging.
