Job description

Are you an ambitious Finance Student with strong analytical skills and a genuine curiosity for data and automation, ready to get hands‑on experience in a fast‑growing international trading group? We are looking for a Finance Student to support our Finance team in Aarhus. Make a smarter move and unleash your potential as a Finance Student at Frey

Role & Responsibilities:

As a Finance Student at Frey, you will support our Finance Business Partner with recurring financial tasks, including month end closing, reconciliations and reporting across Frey's trading verticals - including grains, oilseeds, feedstuffs, coffee, and cotton. You will get broad, hands‑on exposure to how finance operates across these verticals and markets, while helping drive the automation and data initiatives that reduce manual work across the function.

Main responsibilities:
  • Support monthly P&L reporting and variance analysis across Frey’s trading verticals, including grains, oilseeds, feedstuffs, coffee, and cotton.
  • Prepare and maintain reconciliations, including futures positions and mark‑to‑market balances.
  • Build and maintain reporting in Power BI, supporting the shift from manual Excel work towards shared, automated data infrastructure.
  • Support the development and testing of AI and automation tools that reduce manual finance tasks, and help maintain Microsoft Business Central through testing and process documentation.
  • Assist with month‑end close, data quality checks, and ad hoc analysis for the Finance Business Partner and the trading verticals.
Expected skills & Experience:
  • Enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s (later stage) or master’s programme in finance, economics, or business (e.g. HA, cand.merc., finance, or accounting), with a minimum of 1.5 years remaining of your studies.
  • Basic understanding of finance and accounting from your studies, with an interest in commodities trading and eagerness to learn Frey’s business model.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, structured and detail‑oriented, with solid Excel skills.
  • Clear written and verbal English communication skills.
  • A genuine curiosity for data, technology, and automation - experience in Power BI, SQL, Microsoft Business Central, or AI/automation tools is considered a plus.

You are proactive and curious, comfortable working with guidance initially while gradually taking ownership of your own tasks and projects. You should be available 10–20 hours per week and ready to start as soon as possible. This is a great opportunity to build hands‑on finance experience in a fast‑paced, international commodity trading scale‑up, while developing skills at the intersection of finance, data, and technology
