ESG data internship in purpose driven, fast-growing ESG data company

As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a fast-growing company that uses emerging technology to increase the sustainability of investments.

Matter provides ESG and sustainability data as well as analytics to the financial industry. We are a fintech company with offices in Copenhagen, London, and Hong Kong centred around an international culture with colleagues from +10 different nationalities.

The role

We are looking for interns who want to work in the field of ESG and sustainability data analysis. As an intern you will be involved in assessing and validating company reported ESG data, as a part of larger team building technology solutions for ESG data collection and analysis. Tasks include quality control of ESG data, validation of AI model-extracted data, and research on company involvement in human rights violations. Your team and project is cross-functional and very ambitious, and you will be exposed to cutting edge technology development, while you also develop a robust understanding of ESG data. The internship is paid and time limited.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is currently enrolled in a university programme on sustainability, political science, business administration, law, or other relevant studies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate most of the following traits, but you do not need to tick all boxes:

• Strong academic profile (min. 2nd year of BSc.)
• Demonstrated interest in sustainability
• Highly organized with attention to detail
• Ability to work under strict deadlines with competing priorities
• Quick learner with ability to process and understand new information naturally
• Curiosity - ability to self-motivate and know when to ask questions
• General interest in ESG and sustainable finance is a plus
