Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking an engineering leader to guide a growing team building scalable observability and tracing platforms. You will architect and elevate distributed metrics systems, lead design proposals, and foster DevOps practices across global teams.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in SRE/DevOps, hands-on experience with Prometheus/Tempo/Sentry, Kubernetes operators in Python/Go/Bash, and a strong track record in open-source projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in Observability and Tracing, including Otel, Tempo, Sentry, or similar solutions.
• Experience in Observability and Metrics, including Prometheus, Thanos, or similar solutions.
• Experience in software development, preferably building Kubernetes operators using Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience with large-scale, business-critical Linux environments.
• Experience operating within the cloud; AWS and GCP preferred.
• Experience with TDD, CI/CD, Chaos Engineering, or similar infrastructure resilience and reliability practices.
• 8+ years of industry experience.
• Proven ability to work effectively with local and remote teams.
• Rock-solid verbal and written communication skills.
• Contributions to and involvement in open-source software projects.
• Experience being on-call.
• Knowledge of SRE, DevOps, and GitOps practices.
• Highly technical engineering leadership experience.
• Experience building distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage a growing team of engineers focused on building quality platforms.
• Participate in architecting large scale distributed tracing and metrics platforms for CrowdStrike service teams.
• Participate in regular retrospectives, capacity and planning meetings with the team.
• Participate in "lunch and learn" demos, proof-of-concepts, and design sessions for new architectures.
• Review, provide feedback on, and approve new design proposals from the team.
• Help take CrowdStrike's metrics and tracing to the next level.
• Develop infrastructure services supporting CrowdStrike engineering teams' pursuit of a full DevOps model.
