Job summary

Lunar in Aarhus, Denmark, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead two senior squads and shape the platform strategy. You will drive reliability, productivity, and quality across the application and builder-productivity platforms, fostering AI-native development and strong internal partnerships.

You’ll report to the VP of Technology and help scale Lunar’s technology while balancing culture, governance, and delivery for internal customers.

As our new Engineering Manager you'll join the Platform Engineering team based in Aarhus, reporting to Rolf, VP of Technology, working to shape how Lunar builds, and the systems we build with.

You'll lead two squads, nine engineers, mostly senior. One owns our application platform for mobile and web, including authorization. The other owns our builder-productivity platform, now focused on getting the whole company to AI-native development. Both squads serve other engineers, and their value shows up in the leverage they give everyone else.

What will you do?

• Lead two squads of senior engineers. Set direction, clear blockers, and give strong ICs room to do their best work. Match your leadership style to the person. Help them grow.


• Own platform outcomes across both squads: reliability, paved roads, productivity, quality, adoption. Hold internal teams to the same bar as any customer.


• Drive Lunar's shift to AI-native development. Take us from ad-hoc experiments to embedded practice, in the direction the industry calls the software factory. Handle the culture, tech, people, process, and regulatory sides (DORA and beyond).


• Help decide where the builder-productivity platform goes next, working closely with whoever defines what gets built and why.


• Partner with Product and other teams so technical priorities map straight to what customers need. Communicate often, set expectations early.

What are we looking for in you?

• 3-4 years leading engineering teams. You've helped senior ICs and tech leads set their own direction instead of directing from above. You've hired, coached, and managed performance.


• Platform engineering experience. You build for internal customers, think in leverage and adoption, and know the trade-offs of systems other teams rely on.


• Solid infrastructure chops. You know how systems get built, hosted, and scaled, and what pushes hosting and compute costs up or down.


• Real, hands-on experience with agentic coding tools, and genuine curiosity about where this goes next.


• A product instinct. You can say what a platform should do and why, set direction when things shift, and bring your team with you.
