Job summary

Novo Nordisk A/S seeks a Downstream Development Scientist to bridge development and manufacturing, optimising downstream processes and solving production challenges to support medicines for patients. You will join a strong team driving improvements across the value chain.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Life Science or Engineering, 2+ years in downstream processing, and expert knowledge of protein chemistry and purification, with English proficiency and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Life Science or Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in downstream processes, preferably in pharma production or pilot plant.
• Strong knowledge of protein chemistry and purification.
• Professional English proficiency.
• Ability to work independently and own assignments from start to finish.
• Strong communication with scientists, technicians, and production staff.

Responsibilities

• Drive yield and process optimisations through down-scaled experiments.
• Provide technical support to ongoing commercial production and troubleshoot deviations.
• Lead transfer of downstream processes from development to production facilities.
• Own development packages and write regulatory documentation.
• Create and maintain Master Formulas and In-process Controls.
