Turner & Townsend is seeking a seasoned Project Director for digital controls to lead strategy, design, and deployment of a digital ecosystem across major programmes in Europe. The role combines senior programme controls expertise with hands-on configuration of digital tools to ensure data integrity and real-time insight for decision-makers.

Due to growing demand for our consultancy services,we are seekingan experienced Project Directorin digital controls. This rolewill lead the strategy, design, deployment, and continuous improvement of the digital ecosystem that underpins capital delivery performance across majorprogrammes andprojectsin Europe. This leader will combine senior‑level programmeand projectcontrolsexpertisewith practicalandhands‑on experienceinconfiguring digital tools and systems, ensuring data integrity, operationalefficiencyand real‑time insight for decision‑makers.
The role will act asanauthority on digital controls — spanning cost, schedule, risk, change, quality,reportingand information management — and will drive the integration of processes, systems and data acrosscapital programmes and projects.Excellent leadership,interpersonal skills, experience engaging with client stakeholders and the ability to work independentlyarea must. The role requires close collaborationwith cross-functional teams, seniorleadershipand external partners to allow for the delivery ofcomplex digital projects.
We are looking for senior leaders with proven experience in implementingproject, programme, or portfolio control systems
Key Responsibilities
Define and drive digital project strategy, ensuring alignment with our business goals and clients’ strategic objectives
Establish the roadmap for digital platforms, including PMIS, CDE, BIM integration, cost and schedule systems,dashboardsand data governance
Translate business requirements into system design specifications and functional configuration
Lead theselection,implementationand configuration of digital control systems (e.g. PMIS, cost management tools, scheduling platforms, CDEs).
Configuresystem modulesincluding workflows, WBS, CBS, integrated project controls, governance and stage gate processes and user permissions
Conduct testing, validation, and optimisation of system logic, calculations,integrationsand data flows
Drive user adoption through training, guidance,playbooksand engaging communications
Ensure all digital deliverables meet the highest quality standards and are delivered on time
Evaluate project outcomes and processes, implementing improvements for future initiatives
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in delivering complex digital projects, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Bachelor’s degree in STEM related subjects, e.g. Mathematics, Computer Science
Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as procurement, design,constructionand handover
Strong knowledge of project controls processesincludingcost management, scheduling, risk, change control,governanceandreporting
Hands‑on configuration experience with one or more PMIS or digital control platforms (e.g. Oracle PrimaveraCloud, Oracle Aconex, Autodesk Construction Cloud,Procore, CEMAR, SAP PS, Power BI,etc.)
Proficient in Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies
PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile certifications
Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in an Agile environment
Strong communicationand stakeholder management skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment
DesirableSkills and Accreditations
Knowledge of BIM standards, 4D/5D integration or digital twins
Experience with ERP systems (e.g.SAP) and enterprise data architecture
