Senior DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes & Cloud Migration (Azure to AWS)
Join a DevOps team responsible for Kubernetes platforms running across Azure and AWS within a large international energy company. The role centers on driving the migration from Azure and Azure DevOps pipelines to AWS and GitHub Actions.
Occasional travel to Poland required to support project delivery, workshops, and stakeholder collaboration. Frequency and timing of travel will depend on project needs and may be adjusted over time.
What you'll bring:
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes-based application migrations and production-grade cloud environments, including strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Helm and/or Kustomize, container image management, RBAC, service accounts, ingress controllers, and operational troubleshooting.
- Strong AWS expertise covering EKS, IAM, IRSA, VPC networking, security groups, load balancers, Route 53, JFrog-based image registries, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager or Parameter Store, S3, RDS, and EFS.
- Expert-level Terraform experience, including reusable modules, remote state, environment separation, and infrastructure migration patterns.
- Expert-level GitHub Actions experience for CI/CD.
- Practical understanding of data and storage migration (backup/restore, schema compatibility, cutover and rollback planning, data validation) and strong networking knowledge (VNet/VPC, DNS, TLS, ingress/egress, private connectivity, load balancing).
- A strong security mindset, including mapping Azure identity and Kubernetes RBAC to AWS IAM/EKS access patterns, least privilege, secrets management, workload identity, and container image scanning.
- Experience with observability and operations (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) and scripting proficiency in Python or Bash for automation of migration and operational tasks.
Nice to have:
- AKS to EKS migration experience, migration from Azure DevOps YAML pipelines to GitHub workflows.
- Hands-on experience deploying and operating JupyterHub and JupyterLab at scale on Kubernetes (preferably AWS EKS), including the Zero to JupyterHub Helm chart, spawner/authenticator customization (OAuth2/OIDC), persistent storage configuration, resource quotas, auto-scaling, GPU workload support, and multi-tenant administration.
Note: a background check is required prior to onboarding.
