Design Development Intern

Are you a design student currently enrolled at a design school or technical university, and seeking an inspiring internship opportunity to deepen your understanding of the textile world?

Sahco is looking for a Design Development Intern to join our Design team in Copenhagen for the Autumn 2026 semester. The internship will begin in August and will run for a minimum of five months.

As a Design Development Intern, you will play an important role in supporting the Sahco brand, working proactively to assist in the development of curtain and upholstery textiles for upcoming collections. You will collaborate with various departments and help coordinate multiple projects and tasks across the office.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Design team with seasonal tasks
• Organise and maintain current collection samples
• Cut and organise samples
• Update the textile archive
• Maintain and update digital overviews
• Assist with colour cards and sample preparation for testing
• Conduct research on competitors, artworks, and seasonal inspiration
• Assist in the development of artworks for the collection
• Manage freight administration and messaging services
• Assist with office planning, presentations, and logistics coordination

Your Profile

• Highly organised, proactive, and adaptable
• Strong ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Excellent team player with strong communication skills in both written and spoken English
• Detail-oriented with a natural eye for woven textiles
• Strong sense and understanding of colour
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Excel
• Experience with digital artworks is preferred
• Currently pursuing an education in textile design or fashion design
• Proactive problem-solver with the ability to work independently
