Job summary

Novo Nordisk is seeking an Automation Engineer to join the Kalundborg site to implement and maintain automation solutions for API production. You will participate in the transition from design to qualification and commissioning, ensuring robust automation, data integrity, and support for long-term operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master in automation, IT/process control, or related technical field.
• 0–5 years of experience in automation, DCS, IT/OT systems or industrial control environments.
• Experience with DCS 800xA or similar DC systems.
• Strong understanding of automation design, testing, commissioning, and handover to operations.
• Knowledge of GMP, validation, change control, and pharma documentation requirements.
• Good communication skills in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Review automation design and documentation to align with process requirements, GMP, standards, and site needs.
• Review DCS implementation deliverables (control logic, graphics, alarms, trends, system functionality) for quality and maintainability.
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure DCS delivery adheres to scope, standards, and timelines.
• Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, qualification, and validation activities to verify functionality.
• Review and support integration between DCS and PLC, MES, PI Historian, instruments, and packaging equipment.
• Support GMP documentation, change control, risk assessments, deviations, and data integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist handover to operations, review as-built docs, knowledge transfer, maintenance setup, and hypercare after go-live.
