Job summary

emagine is seeking a Data & Storage Migration Consultant (AWS) to lead the migration of workloads and data from Azure and on‑prem to AWS in the Copenhagen area. You will define strategies, execute migrations at scale, and design storage patterns for diverse workloads while ensuring high integrity and controlled cutover.

The role covers planning, validation, and automation using Python and Terraform, with collaboration across IT delivery teams in a product‑led environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering large-scale data and storage migrations to AWS.
• Experience with Azure to AWS migration scenarios is a plus.
• Ability to design storage patterns for SMB access from AWS WorkSpaces and HPC workloads.

Responsibilities

• Define data migration strategy, sequencing, dependencies, runbooks and success criteria.
• Plan and execute file/data migrations using AWS DataSync and DB migrations using AWS DMS.
• Design storage patterns using S3, FSx and Storage Gateway for various workloads.
• Support migrations to AWS RDS with suitable migration approaches.
• Plan controlled cutovers with validation, rollback and data integrity checks.
• Ensure access management, backup and recovery for migrated data.
• Use Terraform to implement storage and migration infrastructure.
• Write Python automation for migration tasks, validation and reporting.

Job description

We are looking for a Data & Storage Migration Consultant (AWS) to support a migration of workloads and data from Azure and on-premises environments to AWS.
The consultant will lead data movement, storage design and migration execution, ensuring large data volumes and databases are migrated with high integrity, predictable performance and controlled cutover to minimise downtime and business disruption. The role also includes designing storage solutions for SMB access from AWS WorkSpaces and corporate computers, as well as performance-sensitive/HPC workloads.

Main Responsibilities

• Define data migration strategy, sequencing, dependencies, runbooks and success criteria
• Plan and execute file/data migrations using AWS DataSync and database migrations using AWS DMS
• Design AWS storage patterns using Amazon S3, Amazon FSx and AWS Storage Gateway (File Gateway)
• Support database migrations to AWS RDS, including selection of appropriate migration approaches
• Plan and execute controlled cutovers, including validation, reconciliation, rollback and data integrity
• Ensure appropriate access management, backup and recovery for migrated data
• Use Terraform to implement storage and migration infrastructure
• Use Python to automate migration tasks, validation and reporting
