Job summary

PEAK Wind ApS in Copenhagen seeks a Data Engineer to design and implement data pipelines across our Azure-based platform, supporting more than 2.5 GW of renewable assets worldwide and powering analytics and operations.

You will own key data products, contribute to asset management data workflows, and help improve the PEAK Shield event reporting system. This role emphasizes data quality, reliability, and scalable solutions with collaboration across product teams.

  • Design and implement data processing pipelines and data flows across our systems.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing data pipelines and processes.
  • Ensure the quality, reliability, and availability of daily data flows used for analytics, reporting, operations, and decision-making with emphasis on Asset Management.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of our proprietary wind farm operations and performance solution.
  • Support the continued improvement and maintenance of PEAK Shield for HSEQ event reporting and management.
  • Provide analysis capabilities and data guidance to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to understand requirements and provide data guidance.
  • Develop and maintain metric calculations and data models for reporting products.
  • Learn and explore new advancements in renewable energy and data engineering.
  • Build and maintain documentation for products, tools, and processes.

Are you passionate about renewable energy and eager to work at the forefront of the global energy transition? PEAK Wind is seeking a Data Engineer to support our Data & Intelligence team in building data pipelines for an ever-larger data flow from various wind farms and solar projects.

The position is located in Copenhagen.

Introducing the Data & Intelligence Team
You will become part of our D&I team, where we work within PEAK Wind's operations management service offering and manage full value chain data management for our clients. We support renewable energy assets worldwide through data management, reporting solutions, and analytics capabilities, helping deliver data-driven solutions that support our clients and renewable energy projects.

You will report to the Head of Data & Intelligence and work closely with colleagues across different areas, bringing your perspective to a collaborative and purposeful team environment.

How You Will Make an Impact
As a Data Engineer, you will contribute to the success of our clients and renewable energy projects by ensuring reliable, scalable, and high-quality data solutions that support operations, reporting, and performance optimization.

You will take ownership of key products within our platform, including the continued development of our proprietary wind asset operations and performance solution, and support the ongoing development of our reporting suite. Working on Microsoft Azure infrastructure, you will contribute to solutions supporting more than 2.5 GW of renewable energy assets worldwide while helping develop new products for both internal and external stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Design and implement data processing pipelines and data flows across our systems
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing data pipelines and processes
  • Help the team make the best design choices for new data engineering infrastructure
  • Ensure the quality, reliability, and availability of daily data flows used for analytics, reporting, operations, and decision-making with particular emphasis on Asset Management
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of our proprietary wind farm operations and performance solution, supporting site onboarding, operations and performance across OEMs, and helping build new features through new data pipelines and models
  • Support the continued improvement and maintenance of PEAK Shield, our platform for HSEQ event reporting and management, helping deliver enhancements
  • Provide analysis capabilities and data guidance to stakeholders
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies across systems
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide analysis support and data guidance in return
  • Help develop and maintain metric calculations and data models for our reporting products that bring value to stakeholders
  • Learn and explore new advancements in the fields of renewable energy and data engineering
  • Build and maintain clear documentation for our products, tools, and processes

What Will Make You Successful in This Role

  • A degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or similar
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Developer, or in a similar role. Recent graduates with a strong passion for data engineering are also encouraged to apply
  • Strong experience with Python and SQL
  • Experience with Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Storage, or Azure SQL Database is an advantage
  • Interest in modern data engineering technologies such as Databricks, EventHub-Kafka, PostgreSQL, Django, Dagster, and similar tools
  • Experience working in a complex technical environment; renewable energy experience is an advantage but not required
  • Clear and effective communication skills in English, both spoken and written
  • An agile mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • A proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented approach to work
  • Comfortable owning a product from idea to delivery, including creating documentation that enables others to maintain and develop it
  • A structured and analytical approach to problem-solving and the ability to take initiative
  • The ability to stay calm, constructive, and focused in a high-paced environment
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in an international, cross-functional team
