Technical University of Denmark (DTU) invites exceptional candidates for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor position in Data-driven thermodynamics for Industrial Decarbonization. The role combines leading-edge research in thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid flow with data-driven AI methods to accelerate decarbonization efforts, from lab-scale to industrial applications.

Based in the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering (DTU Construct) and anchored in the Thermal Energy Section, you

Qualifications

  • PhD in a relevant field (thermodynamics, fluids, or mechanical/ chemical engineering).
  • Strong background in applied thermodynamics aided by computational methods (machine learning/AI).
  • Experience with data-driven approaches and validation for industrial decarbonization is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct international-relevant research within data-driven thermodynamics and high-performance thermal technologies.
  • Contribute to external funding by leading collaborative national and international projects.
  • Engage with industry and the public sector to expand collaborations of the Thermal Energy Section.
  • Advance research infrastructure for methods validation and proof-of-concept.
  • Participate in teaching and supervision across relevant courses.
