Job summary

Google Data Center teams design and operate critical electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems to keep services online. Facilities Technicians monitor, inspect, maintain, and repair data center infrastructure, reading blueprints and coordinating with senior technicians to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role involves supporting startup and commissioning of new equipment while adhering to environmental and safety standards to minimize outages and downtime.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or related training in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of electrical experience in industrial or commercial environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and use safety PPE per guidelines.
• Ability to work non-standard hours and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair data center systems.
• Provide daily assistance to technicians by reading blueprints and schematics and assessing systems.
• Manage uptime and maintenance of UPS, generators, electrical distribution, and control and monitoring systems.
• Operate and respond to abnormal conditions in data center facilities.
• Support startup, commissioning, and integration of new electrical equipment.
