Job summary

Alfa Laval Mid Europe GmbH is seeking a Compliance and Laboratory Lead to join the Innovation Centre. You will blend regulatory oversight with hands-on lab management to ensure safe, compliant operations and high-quality results across Fermentation Area.

You will develop policies, lead audits, and mentor staff while collaborating with internal and external partners to advance R&D and process improvements. The role requires a proactive, analytical professional.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Food Science or related field.
• At least two years of laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards.
• Experience with analyzing information, solving problems, preparing technical reports and delivering presentations.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain compliance: develop, implement and update policies, procedures and risk controls.
• Monitor regulatory changes, conduct risk assessments and audits, and report findings.
• Ensure audit and inspection readiness with accurate records and liaison with authorities.
• Promote a strong compliance culture with training and guidance.
• Lead daily laboratory operations with safety, efficiency and quality.
• Oversee laboratory infrastructure, calibration and maintenance and manage supplies.
• Develop and standardise laboratory practices and documentation systems.
• Train and develop laboratory staff and monitor performance.
• Enable R&D and fermentation-focused trials in collaboration with internal/external partners.
• Support fermentation activities with planning, execution and troubleshooting.
