Job summary

Too Good To Go is seeking a Centre of Excellence Lead in Copenhagen to build and lead a data science and machine learning team tasked with solving critical challenges around user behavior and marketplace efficiency. This role combines leadership with hands-on technical involvement, empowering a team of Data Scientists and ML Engineers to drive impactful data initiatives. Candidates should possess strong expertise in data science and ML, coupled with leadership experience to develop and guide the team effectively.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience leading technical teams, a firm grasp of best practices in the data science domain, and strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders within the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams of around 5 people.
• Strong foundation in data science or machine learning.
• Comfortable across both disciplines.
• Track record of delivering impactful ML or DS work.
• Grounding in experimentation and impact evaluation.
• Experience with personalization, optimization, and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the CoE team of Data Scientists and ML Engineers.
• Set and raise technical standards across the team.
• Stay hands-on as a player-coach.
• Strengthen the DSML handoff for model production.
• Partner with Product and business leaders on high-impact opportunities.
• Represent the CoE to stakeholders.
