Job summary

The Faculty of Medicine, Department of Health Science and Technology at Aalborg University seeks a Data Scientist to help establish Digital Heart, a cardiovascular data and AI research infrastructure developed with Aalborg University Hospital and other hospital partners. The role is a full-time TAP position based in Aalborg, available from 1 November 2026.

You will collect and organize clinical data including imaging and electronic patient records within a secure Trusted Research Environment,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in data science, computer science, biomedical engineering, health informatics or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong Python and SQL skills and experience developing reliable data pipelines.
• Experience integrating complex datasets, preferably from clinical or hospital systems.
• Knowledge of secure research environments and container technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical data extraction and secure transfer from participating hospitals.
• Develop and maintain workflows for importing, processing and linking imaging, biosignal and patient record data.
• Establish structured research datasets, databases and metadata documentation.
• Implement data quality checks and procedures for pseudonymisation and secure data handling.
• Deploy existing analysis and AI tools and support researchers using the platform.
