Job summary

Epico is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support technology, analytics, and digital product initiatives within a Data & Analytics environment. You will translate business needs into clear and actionable requirements for engineering and delivery teams.

You will collaborate with Data Analysts and Engineers to ensure reporting and metrics reflect agreed definitions, define KPIs, and facilitate workshops while acting as a bridge between business and technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Business Analyst or similar role with requirements management.
• Experience in agile environments and creating user stories with acceptance criteria.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, documentation, and facilitation skills.
• Understanding of data analysis, reporting, KPIs, and dashboards.
• Experience working with Jira/Confluence or similar tools.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support technology, analytics, and digital product initiatives within a Data & Analytics environment.

The role focuses on translating business needs, processes, stakeholder requirements, and product objectives into clear and actionable requirements for engineering and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document business needs, stakeholder requirements, processes, and pain points through interviews, workshops, process analysis, data analysis, and observation.

• Translate product vision and priorities into features, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.

• Ensure requirements are complete, clear, testable, and aligned with business goals.

• Define and document current-state and future-state business processes.

• Document scope, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and success criteria.

• Support MVP definition and backlog refinement.

• Break down complex business problems into clear and actionable work items.

• Conduct root cause analysis and identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities.

• Use data to validate business needs, requirements, and delivered outcomes.

• Define KPIs, metrics, reporting requirements, business rules, and calculation requirements.

• Support requirements for reports and dashboards.

• Work closely with Data Analysts and Engineers to ensure reporting and metrics reflect agreed business definitions.

• Partner with engineering teams during refinement, development, testing, and release.

• Support quarterly planning and ongoing delivery activities.

• Act as a bridge between business and technical stakeholders.

• Facilitate workshops and create shared understanding around requirements, scope, and impacts.

Requirements

We believe you have:

• Experience working as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar.

• Strong experience in business analysis and requirements management.

• Experience gathering, documenting, and managing requirements in agile environments.

• Experience creating user stories and acceptance criteria.

• Experience with business process mapping and current-state/future-state documentation.

• Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with root cause analysis.

• Understanding of data analysis, reporting, KPIs, and dashboards.

• Experience defining metrics, business rules, and reporting requirements.

• Experience with backlog refinement.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Strong documentation and facilitation skills.

• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.

• A structured and detail-oriented way of working.

Nice to Have

• Experience within Data & Analytics environments.

• Experience working closely with software engineering, data engineering, Machine Learning, or Data Science teams.

• Experience working with digital product development.

• Experience collaborating with software vendors or implementation partners.

• Interest in new technologies, tools, and AI-enabled ways of working.
