Jeppesen ForeFlight in Odense seeks a Machine Learning Engineer to design and train models for Cost Index Optimization, delivering measurable improvements in fuel efficiency.

From our Odense office, you will build neural networks, define training pipelines, and ensure outputs stay physics-bounded while data grows.

You’ll take models into production, monitor drift, and collaborate with aviation specialists to merge physics and learned insights for offline flight deck use.

Qualifications

• Strong applied ML experience with production-ready models.
• Proficient Python and ML tooling including PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Experience with time-series or sensor data and real-world datasets.

Responsibilities

• Design neural network architectures for tail-specific performance modeling.
• Build the training pipeline: data prep, feature engineering, hyperparameter tuning, retraining.
• Define and automate validation against real-world flight data and targets.
• Collaborate with aircraft performance specialists to blend physics-based and learned models.
• Package models into compact artifacts for offline use on EFB devices and monitor production deployment.
