Job summary

VELUX Skjern seeks a Technical Manager to lead the Technical Services organisation at the Skjern site, aligning strategic direction with operational excellence in a highly automated environment.

You will report to the General Manager and drive digitalisation, project delivery, and maintenance across a cross-functional team, shaping the future of advanced manufacturing within the VELUX group.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Engineering qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Experience leading technical, engineering, maintenance or project teams.
• Strong understanding of Lean, operational excellence and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience driving automation, digitalisation or production improvement initiatives.
• Fluent in English and Danish, both written and spoken.

Technical Manager - VELUX Skjern

Join our production site in Skjern and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of advanced manufacturing, driving technical performance, digitalisation, and continuous improvement across a highly automated production environment.

Meet your future team

As Technical Manager, you will be based in Skjern and report directly to the General Manager. You will lead a diverse and highly skilled Technical Services organisation consisting of Project Engineers, Engineering Specialists within mechanical and electronic engineering and analytics, and a Maintenance team of experienced technicians. Together, the team plays a crucial role in ensuring equipment reliability, delivering technical projects, and supporting production excellence.

You will become part of both local and international leadership forums, collaborating closely with colleagues across Operations, Engineering, Quality and Production. The role offers significant influence and autonomy, enabling you to identify opportunities, drive improvements and contribute to the continued development of a mature Lean culture built on VELUX values.

A key focus in the coming years will be the optimisation of a highly automated production facility in Skjern, which will serve as a blueprint for future implementation at one of our production sites in France.

• Support the installation, integration and optimisation of new machinery and production technologies across the site.
• Collaborate with local and international stakeholders to deliver strategic projects and share best practices across the organisation.

Moreover, we expect that you:

• Bring proven leadership experience from a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably within a larger international organisation.
• Hold a relevant technical qualification such as Engineering, Production Technology, Marine Engineering or a comparable discipline.
• Have substantial experience leading technical, engineering, maintenance or project teams.
• Possess a strong understanding of Lean principles, operational excellence and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Have experience driving technical development, automation, digitalisation or production improvement initiatives.
• Communicate effectively across all organisational levels and build strong relationships based on trust, collaboration and mutual respect.
• Are fluent in English and Danish, both written and spoken.
