European Energy is a growing company in the renewable energy sector. We are a privately owned Danish company founded in 2004, with our headquarters in Copenhagen. We develop, construct, finance, and operate solar (PV) and wind energy projects globally, as well as Power-to-X projects. In addition, we explore new technologies, including battery storage, biogas, and carbon capture. Our core values form the foundation of everything we do: In It Together, Trust and Courage, Ambition, Excitement, Inclusion, and Agility.

Your New Team

As a part of the CCO Area, the Project and Asset Finance team is responsible for sourcing all financing needed to construct EE's project pipeline. In this role, you will work directly with the Senior Associate and wider transaction team, as well as the more than 25 other members of the broader M&A and Project Finance department dedicated to commercialising EE's asset portfolio.

Your New Role

As an Associate, Project Finance you will provide hands‑on support to the transaction team, working closely with the Senior Associate and wider deal team. You will become well‑versed in the financial model and able to run scenarios and sensitivities, while supporting the team wherever needed. This is an excellent entry point into project finance, with direct exposure to live, high‑value transactions from day one.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the transaction team as directed.
  • Become well‑versed in the financial model and able to run scenarios and sensitivities.
  • Support the Senior Associate in maintaining the dataroom and coordinating lender/advisor Q&A.
  • Assist in preparing transaction information materials.
  • Support due diligence and documentation processes as needed.
Prerequisites to progress in the job
  • You have 0-2 years of relevant experience, for example from a graduate programme (with relevant coursework), internship, or junior analyst role in finance, infrastructure, or a related field.
  • You have strong quantitative and Excel skills, and an aptitude for financial modelling.
  • You have an interest in developing a career in project finance and renewable energy.
  • You are structured, thorough, and comfortable picking up new tasks quickly.
  • As a person, you are curious and eager to learn, with a structured approach to your work and an eye for detail.
  • You are collaborative and communicate clearly, and you are motivated by the opportunity to build your project finance skills on live transactions from day one.
  • You may occasionally be asked to travel to meet with stakeholders across Europe.
Benefits
  • Close collaboration with senior colleagues and meaningful deal ownership from day one
  • A culture of knowledge sharing and international collaboration across 21+ countries
  • Flexible work policy and a diverse, inclusive work environment
  • Opportunities for career advancement in a growing company and sector
  • Six weeks of paid annual leave, a subsidised lunch scheme, employee discounts on glasses, furniture, and massage, free access to a gym, a mobile phone for both professional and personal use, and access to professional development opportunities, including on-the-job learning, internal and external training, and networking.

We value a diverse and inclusive workplace and encourage all qualified candidates to apply, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, religion, or background. To support a fair and unbiased recruitment process, we kindly ask that you do not include a photograph in your CV. We assess all candidates based on their skills, experience, qualifications, and potential to succeed in the role.
