Job summary

Novo Nordisk is seeking an Associate Manager for EHS and Facility who will lead the 25K EHS & Facility team within API Manufacturing. You will direct work permits, facility management and safety support to ensure production readiness and compliant operations.

You will partner with Quality, EHS, Engineering and HR, reporting to a director, and guide a team of eight to deliver safe, efficient manufacturing while upholding Novo Nordisk standards.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of people leadership experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in GxP pharmaceutical production.
  • Experience across functions and stakeholders.
  • Ability to set clear direction, expectations and boundaries.
  • Curious, systematic approach to problem-solving.
  • High integrity with focus on safety, compliance and sustainable practices.
  • Professional proficiency in English and Danish.

Responsibilities

  • Set professional and operational direction for EHS, work permits, facilities, security and housekeeping.

Your impact begins here. As Associate Manager, 25K EHS and Facility, you will lead the team that keeps two API Manufacturing production facilities safe, compliant and ready to produce. These facilities serve marketed products and products on their way to market, so reliable work permits, health and safety support, facility management, security and housekeeping matter every day. You will give a diverse, team clear direction and build ways of working that keep production moving safely.

What you’ll bring
  • 3-5 years of people leadership experience and a proven ability to develop individuals and teams.
  • At least 2 years of experience in GxP pharmaceutical production.
  • Experience working across functions and stakeholder levels while balancing compliance requirements and operational timelines.
  • The ability to set clear direction, expectations and boundaries, and to make consistent decisions while creating ownership in your team.
  • A curious, systematic approach to problem-solving, with an eye for operational detail and the bigger picture.
  • High integrity and a strong focus on safety, compliance and sustainable ways of working.
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English and Danish.
Useful, but not essential
  • Experience from a regulated manufacturing, EHS, facility, technical operations or comparable operational environment.
  • Relevant leadership, EHS, facility or pharmaceutical manufacturing training.
What you’ll do
  • Lead, develop and engage a diverse and team, and set clear roles, responsibilities, priorities and expectations.
  • Set the professional and operational direction for EHS, work permit management, facility management, security and housekeeping.
  • Make sure facilities are maintained, controlled and ready to support production and release, with effective health and safety support and compliant work permit management.
  • Build team capabilities including clear expectations for operational support and availability.
  • Simplify workflows and drive improvements.
  • Keep your area inspection- and audit-ready, making sure ways of working meet agreements, GxP requirements and EHS standards.
Who you’ll work with

You will lead the 25K EHS & Facility team within API Manufacturing, part of Global Manufacturing & Supply, where colleagues scale molecules, processes and products for the people who need them. You will report to director, Lene Bøje Madsen. Your team will consist of 8 engaged colleagues. As an active member of the local management team, you will work closely with colleagues in project management, craftsmen, equipment support, utilities and staff functions to set shared priorities and drive cross-functional improvements. Day to day, you will partner with production and support teams across the two facilities, aligning facility needs and safety requirements with production priorities. You will also work with Quality, EHS, Engineering, HR and other specialist functions, and with external contractors and service providers across facility, housekeeping, security, maintenance and work permit activities. When required, you will meet relevant authorities or inspectors. Your responsibility is local, and you will work within Novo Nordisk global standards, policies and requirements.

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 651,000to 956,900DKK, corresponding to the level of the position. The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
