Job description

Associate Director, Pharmacovigilance Agreements (Customer Engagement Activities)

Category: Reg Affairs & Safety Pharmacovigilance

Location: Søborg, Capital Region of Denmark, DK

Shape how patient safety advances with digital innovation

How should pharmacovigilance (PV) evolve as healthcare becomes more digital and customer engagement models grow more complex? Join Novo and help shape the answer.

As Associate Director, Pharmacovigilance Agreements (Customer Engagement Activities), your expertise will shape how PV obligations are defined, agreed and embedded across digital health initiatives and other customer engagement activities worldwide.

This is an opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with global influence: advising stakeholders, shaping contractual frameworks and establishing processes that enable innovation while safeguarding patient safety.

What you’ll do

You will take strategic ownership of PV obligations and processes for digital health initiatives, bringing clarity to complex questions and practical solutions to evolving business needs. You will:

  • Set direction for digital health PV processes. Establish, maintain and continuously improve end-to-end processes in line with global regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
  • Provide authoritative, practical guidance. Advise headquarters and affiliates on PV obligations for internally and externally owned digital health initiatives, including assessing external partners’ PV qualifications and capabilities.
  • Lead PV agreement development and negotiation. Develop, negotiate and maintain clear, compliant and fit-for-purpose agreements for digital engagement programmes owned by headquarters.
  • Shape consistent PV practice across engagement models. Collaborate with fellow subject matter experts to define and align obligations across different customer engagement activities.
  • Turn regulatory complexity into actionable advice. Interpret PV and device vigilance (DV) requirements and guidelines, helping stakeholders make informed decisions and put them into practice.
What you’ll bring

You are an experienced PV expert who is comfortable setting direction and giving clear, credible guidance in complex situations.

You will bring:

  • A Master’s degree in Life Sciences and 8+ years of relevant experience, with strong, hands-on expertise in pharmacovigilance.
  • Extensive knowledge of international PV legislation, including GVP, GMP and GCP, and experience across multiple PV roles.
  • A proven track record of providing robust PV guidance in diverse stakeholder and customer engagement settings, such as digital health initiatives, market research programmes and early/expanded access programmes.
  • Solid experience establishing and maintaining PV agreements and managing external partners, including assessing their PV qualifications and capabilities.
  • Familiarity with key PV business processes, safety systems and relevant IT tools, and an understanding of the wider pharmaceutical industry and business context.
  • Fluent written and spoken English, and confidence working in global, cross-functional environments.
  • Strong analytical skills and sound judgement, the ability to work independently and communicate with authority and clarity, and the drive to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution.
Who you’ll work with

You will join a small, highly specialised team with broad responsibilities across external partner management and customer engagement activities.

The team defines and continuously improves the external partner management process, negotiates PV Agreements with external partners and keeps oversight of partners that impact the Novo Nordisk PV system. It also helps integrate acquisitions smoothly into the global PV framework and oversees PV process aspects of customer engagement programmes, such as market research, patient support programmes, digital health initiatives and social media activities.

Your closest collaborators will include stakeholders at headquarters, colleagues in affiliates, external partners and subject matter experts across Global Patient Safety. You will gain broad international exposure and interact regularly with senior leaders across functions and geographies.

Within the team, you can expect open discussion, mutual support and colleagues committed to finding practical solutions that meet patient safety obligations and business needs.

Bring your expertise to a role where it can influence activities and decisions worldwide. You will be trusted to own your area, contribute your perspective and shape how Novo approaches PV in an evolving digital healthcare landscape. The breadth of the role and the expertise of your colleagues offer opportunities to deepen your knowledge, extend your influence and continue developing your career.

Alongside meaningful work in a global healthcare company, you can expect benefits designed to support your career and life stage.
