Job summary

Flatpay ApS in Denmark is seeking an experienced Android Engineer to help scale our POS platform. You’ll lead features across Kotlin/Compose, collaborate with Product and Design, and own meaningful parts of the product from design to deployment.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of software engineering experience, strong knowledge of distributed systems, testing and modern tooling, and a collaborative, proactive mindset in a fast-growing fintech environment.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems.
• Comfortable with modern software engineering practices, including testing and version control.
• Curious, pragmatic, and eager to learn new technologies.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to take ownership of your work.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to challenge ideas constructively.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building and evolving features across our POS platform.
• Lead feature and platform initiatives involving multiple engineers, driving delivery from discovery through production.
• Build and maintain features in the Android POS platform in Kotlin/Compose that connects to printers and payment terminals, using real–time communication via AWS MQTT.
• Take ownership of features from design and implementation through deployment and maintenance.
• Drive architectural decisions and long‑term technical improvements.
• Improve reliability, observability, performance, and security across the platform.
• Contribute to testing, operations and a collaborative team culture.
