Are you ready to set the direction for how AI creates value in Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Development? We are looking for an AI specialist who combines deep technical expertise with business understanding and a passion for solving complex challenges. In this role, you will help shape the long-term AI strategy for CMC and deliver practical solutions that improve efficiency, accelerate decision‑making and support Novo Nordisk’s digital transformation.

What You’ll Do

As our new AI/ML Specialist, you will lead the AI agenda across CMC. Acting as the bridge between science, technology, data and business priorities, you will shape how AI is adopted responsibly and translated into measurable value.

This specialist role combines strategic ownership with hands‑on delivery. Your first priorities will be to assess the existing AI landscape and develop an AI strategy and architecture for CMC. You will work within enterprise guardrails, align with Enterprise AI and ensure AI priorities connect with the wider team’s data and information roadmaps.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Setting and evolving the AI strategy, roadmap and architecture for CMC, defining what successful and responsible AI adoption should look like in the years ahead.
• Identifying, prioritising and delivering high‑value AI and machine learning opportunities from exploration and modelling through to implementation, deployment and adoption.
• Developing practical business solutions and measuring impact through outcomes such as time saved, efficiency gains, usage and contribution to strategic priorities.
• Translating future AI needs into clear requirements in partnership with data engineers, information modellers and domain specialists.
• Representing CMC in enterprise AI forums, advising senior stakeholders and running inspiration sessions that show what AI can achieve in a regulated scientific environment.

The role offers substantial autonomy as the central AI specialist for an organisation spanning research, production and supply chain activities. You will work with varied scientific and operational challenges in an entrepreneurial environment where promising ideas can be tested, learned from and moved forward.

Who You’ll Work With

CMC Development's role in Novo's value chain is to turn molecules into approved products in close cooperation with our colleagues in R&ED, Development and Global Manufacturing and Supply.

You will join the CMC Digital Value & Foundation team, the central data team supporting CMC. The team brings together information modellers, data engineers and domain specialists to standardise, package and make data available for scalable digital and AI solutions.

Your primary office will be in Bagsværd. As close engagement with CMC stakeholders is central to the position, you should expect regular collaboration across relevant local CMC sites, e.g. in Måløv and Ballerup.

What You’ll Bring

You combine strong AI and machine learning expertise with commercial awareness and an understanding of how technology can address real business needs. You move comfortably between strategic discussions and technical implementation, focusing on customer value and demonstrated outcomes.

We Are Looking For Someone Who Brings

• Strong applied knowledge of AI and machine learning, with experience developing or implementing solutions that deliver tangible value.
• The ability to define AI strategies, roadmaps or architectures while remaining motivated to build, test and deliver hands‑on solutions.
• A relevant degree in e.g. computer science, software engineering, data science or another related field. An alternative scientific background combined with relevant AI experience is equally welcome.
• Experience navigating complex stakeholder landscapes, communicating technical concepts clearly and advising on opportunities, limitations, data considerations and responsible adoption.
• Knowledge of CMC, pharmaceutical development or manufacturing is strongly preferred. Experience from another regulated environment may also be relevant.

You are curious and externally oriented, keeping up with a rapidly changing technology landscape while staying focused on priorities that create sustainable value. You can challenge requests constructively, make clear choices and say no when needed. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

Salary:

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 742,600 to 1,091,600 DKK (DK)

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
